Songwriting Camp // Ages 12+ July 10, 2017
Welcome to the School of Rock Mamaroneck Summer Camp! Songwriting is a wonderful and challenging way for students to express
themselves individually while working together with peers to produce
something that is totally unique. This camp is open to all ability levels and places students in small group examining established
artists and their songwriting styles and studies while also analyzing various song structures to support the composition of original songs.
PLEASE NOTE: This particular camp is for advanced students and must be proficient on their primary instrument. This camp will focus be on the mechanics of creative songwriting by spending the week exploring the creative process of writing and performing original music! Campers will be placed in bands that will work together writing and rehearsing to prepare for a live performance at the end of the camp week. There will be a contest held at the venue as part of the live performance, and the winning band will spend one day recording their winning song at a local, state of the art, recording studio! The campers will perform as full bands on Friday July 14th showcasing the songs they created during the week long camp for family, friends, and community to enjoy!

All guitar & bass students, have them bring their instrument to camp. Drum students just should bring a pair of drum sticks. Vocals and keys are good to go, as is. Packed lunch for each day, except on Friday we will be ordering pizza for them.
